      Katherine Kellgren's voice sweeps away the scary and leaves the spooky in this second Araminta Spookie adventure. Intrepid Araminta and wimpy Wanda Wizzard find a grotto deep inside a cave under Spookie House, their very haunted house. In the grotto is an ancient sword, which they're sure would make a perfect birthday gift for Sir Horace, their terminally depressed house ghost. The BIG problem: How to reach it? Kellgren is engaging as Araminta and the squeaky Wanda, and she's hauntingly haughty as 500-year-old Sir Horace. Youngsters will appreciate this story more if they've listened to Sage's first book in the series, MY HAUNTED HOUSE, but Kellgren's performance makes THE SWORD IN THE GROTTO so much fun that not knowing the back story doesn't hurt a bit.
